How can I check if my wireless card is enabled?This is a featured page


Windows

Option A

1. Right-click on My Network Places and select Properties.
2. If your wireless network connection card is marked with a red X, right-click and select Enable.

Option B

1. Click on the Start button, select Run, enter “cmd” and click OK.
2. Enter “ipconfig” and click OK.
3. Your IP address should begin with one of the following:

172.16.22.x
172.16.23.x
172.16.218.x
172.16.219.x
172.16.222.x
172.16.223.x

4. If your IP address resembles one of the following:

Media disconnected (refer to Option A above)
169.254.x.x
0.0.0.0

Then:

a. Click on the Start button, select Run, enter “cmd” and click OK.
b. Enter “ipconfig /release” and click OK.
c. Enter “ipconfig /renew” and click OK.

Mac

1. Click the Apple icon at top-left of desktop.
2. Highlight Location.
3. Select Network Preferences.
4. Check for green light next to AirPort.
5. If light is red, highlight AirPort and click Configure.
6. Check AirPort for USFwireless. If you don’t see USFwireless, click the + symbol to add.
